Poem – The Fable of the Organ Grinder and his Many Monkeys

The Fable of the Organ Grinder and his Many Monkeys (100 words)

I am an organ grinder.

I play but one tune and that is to lure monkeys.

Long ago, I hired 10 of them, each paying me a sum of money for the privilege to find others.

They in turn found 100 more monkeys – who also gave their money to me.

Then it was 1,000, then 10,000 and soon it will be millions.

Every monkey dreams of being an organ grinder.

Of course, there is but one – and that’s myself.

And when the world runs out of monkeys, I shall be rich – and an organ grinder no more.
