Poem – Clockwork World

I am not God

I am an artisan

One who went at the start of time

To work small wonders

Which over time, were done

I set it all in motion

The gears began to chime

And in their fashion,

Things begun

There was no reason to remain,

And so I went upon my way,

The clock was left

To its own device,

Mechanical man

Would bend his knee to the sky,

And seek the name of god,

Which cannot be I,

For I am but an artisan
