Poem – Tribe

We are not the same as you

But at least there is a ‘we’

You surf through the rule book

You were handed at birth

We are battered by waves,

Lost in an unfriendly sea

We go home alone with our thoughts

While you sign up friends

Associate with high-fliers,

And party!

Senses can be excruciating,

Social interaction, painstaking

We are not the same as you, you see

But at least –

There is a ‘we’.
